Genady Shlapobersky was born in 1965 to a Jewish family in the little town of Kalinkovichi in Belarus. In 1983 he became a believer in Yeshua HaMashiah by reading the Bible and hearing the testimony of his Russian believer friend.
From 1984-1986 he served in the Soviet Army. In 1989 he finished Moscow Electrical Communication College. At this time, he met Oleg Gitlin, who was a Jewish believer in Yeshua HaMashiah and a well known virtuosos balalaika player.
In 1991 he immigrated to Israel. In 1994, he finished Western Galilee College (engineer electronics) and from then, he has been working in electronics companies.
Genady started to seriously study guitar playing in 2001 in order to accompany his believer friend, the known virtuosos balalaika player HYPERLINK "http://www.raisethepraise.tv/artists/profiles/oleg.htm" \t "_self" Oleg Gitlin. Genady performed with him in Russia and in Israel.
