What a blessing it is to introduce “the Gospel
Collection”, by world-renowned Helen Shapiro. You are in for a
special treat with this Double CD, a compilation of 35 of Helen’s
greatest songs to date. It was nearly impossible to choose only a few
songs from “the Gospel Collection”, since there are so many
wonderful songs to choose from on this Two CD release.
Making music come to life is not new to Helen
Shapiro, who gained international stardom at the age of fourteen.
Continuing on with her G-d- given talent Helen topped the bill, early in
her career, in a nationwide tour of Britain with the Beatles opening up
for her.
You will be touched by the unique and powerful manner
in which Helen sings many well-known messianic songs that have been sung
in congregations worldwide. Helen Shapiro’s style of singing has left
an impact on me, and I have enjoyed listening to her highly anointed CDs
throughout the years. I am sure that you will agree with me once you
listen to the song samples that I have chosen for you from this
fantastic CD offering of praise and worship.
The first song sample, entitled, “Ride On To Die”,
written by Michael Card, is based on Zechariah 9:9. This song speaks to
the Daughters of Zion, declaring that the King is coming on the foal of
a donkey to bring salvation, as has been foretold. Listening to this
song, one can almost visualize the scene of our Lord coming down the
road to fulfill Messianic prophecies. Oh daughter of Zion, Your time’s
drawing near. Don’t forsake Him, Oh don’t pass it by. On the foal of
a donkey, As the prophet has said. Passing by you, He rides on to die. This
beautiful song brought me to my knees thanking Yeshua for what He did
for me so that I can have eternal life.
The second song sample entitled “I Will Call”,
written by Bruce Cohen, is based on Joel 2:32 & Romans 10:13 This
song brings a sense of hope and encouragement, knowing that in calling
on the Name of the Lord as our Messiah we will be saved.
The third song sample that I have chosen is written
by Caren Buffum. This heart-felt song, entitled, “Jerusalem” exemplifies
the love that G-d has bestowed upon Zion. It will leave you retreating
to your prayer closet to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, the Holy City
of our Lord.
The fourth song sample, “Enter His Gates/
Halleluyah Medley”, Helen brilliantly interweaves two songs taken
from the Psalms. “Enter His Gates’, based upon Psalm
100:4, will make you want to enter His gates with thanksgiving
and lift up praises right along with Helen. Based upon Psalm 150,
“Halleluyah”, gloriously declares that everything with
breath praise the Lord with song, resounding cymbals and ringing
Halleluyahs.
The fifth song sample, “O Praise The Lord”, written
by Rachel Boskey is based on Psalm 117. This lively song will get you up
on your feet, clapping, singing and dancing. “Behold God Is My
Salvation,” by Stuart Dauerman taken from Isaiah 12: 2-3 rounds
out this joyous medley.
What more can I say? This CD is absolutely awesome!
Helen Shapiro at her astounding best! Double CD. Double Blessing.
