Keren-Or Bio

Shalom! My name is Keren-Or (= a ray of light, in Hebrew) Hirsch. I was born in Jerusalem to a Yemenite ultra-orthodox family, and most of my life I was living in Jerusalem. I received Yeshua as my Messiah and king about 5 years ago and all my life completely changed. After realizing that my many years of private clinic and teaching of Chinese Medicine is not of God, I drove with 2 brothers to Yad-Hashmonah (a Messianic kibbutz near Jerusalem) and burned all my clinic equipment and so many books of New-Age… When we were looking at the fire and meditating on God, a wonderful peace and joy filled my heart, and suddenly I started to sing a praise song to Yeshua in a way I’ve never sang before. A few months later I started to receive beautiful songs from Heaven. Most of the songs came while I was praying or meditating on God’s Word. Until I gave my life completely to Yeshua, I wasn’t a musician at all, but when the songs started to come to me, I experienced the intimacy with God in a very special and deep way, and things changed. Most of the songs came immediately with the lyrics and the melody. In order to remember the songs, I was typing the lyrics and recording the songs into my computer, using Qubase. The songs brought much joy to my heart, as God was teaching, comforting and educating me through out the songs. About a year after I received the 1^st song (about Jerusalem), the Holy Spirit made it clear to me that on His perfect timing I’ll start to record CD’s, as God’s will for me regarding the songs is to share them with the International Body of Messiah. All the songs were originally written in Hebrew and part of them translated into English as well.

On November 2003 I married an American Messianic Jew, and moved to start our family life together in America, until God will call us back to live in Israel. After the wedding my husband and I spent a few months in Jerusalem. The Holy Spirit spoke to his heart to help me record the songs, with Elisheva & Yuval Shomron’s encouragement and Marc Chopinsky as the producer. From the 1^st meeting regarding the recording we all strongly felt God’s anointing, joy and unity with us. It was a wonderful and exciting experience!!

Marc Chopinsky chose songs that he thought will be more suitable to the American style and with relatively easy Hebrew. 15 songs were selected and we started to work together in Marc’s studio on the music. What a great time was that! God’s presence was with us and working together was easy and enjoyable to all. The musicians were from Ohalei Rachamim congregation, who play together with Marc on their worship team. Within 1 month the music was recorded and we were ready to start recording the vocals. At that time I found out that I’m pregnant! I could record two songs only, and realized how physically I was weak due to the pregnancy, and decided to go back to my husband who was waiting for me in California. Marc came to visit us and found out a studio that used the very same recording software he used to record my CD. On the 4^th month to my pregnancy the rest of the songs (13) were recorded in a studio located north California. My pregnancy was tough. I suffered from much pain and other known symptoms, and we all knew that I really can’t sing with my condition, unless God will pour His super-natural power on me, and that’s exactly what happened. Within 4 days only all the songs were successfully recorded, in pace of 3-4 songs a day. The recording days in the studio moved our hearts much. I prayed to God that if the timing is from Him, I’ll simply open my lips to praise Him and He will strengthen and anoint me to sing them all and endure much pain, and that’s exactly what happened. We felt that we are walking in a miracle and our hearts rejoiced and praise God for His graceful touch on us.

Marc went back to Israel, after a very blessed visit in a few Messianic congregations in North CA, and finished the mix. The CD was successfully sold for the 1^st time on the 4^th of July 2004 at the Messiah conference in Pennsylvania.

Until now, I performed in a few Messianic conferences in Israel. My vocal is recorded on the CD “Ahalel Otcha Lanetzach” and on “Karen’s Song” (wonderful comforting CD produced by Elisheva Shomron), and in a few Messianic & Christian events in Israel and north California.

We pray for God’s timing and open door to record the 2^nd CD for His glory.
