I am blessed to feature a release by Faith Yesner. You
might know Faith as a long time member of the Messianic Super group, KOL
SIMCHA. More about that later. I must tell you that I had the
pleasure of hearing a preview of Faith’s CD at the MJAA Messiah
Conference in July. I was so moved by the songs that I heard, I went
away longing for this release. It was obvious to me then, and especially
obvious when Faith recently completed "IN HIS GRACE", that
she has been given a special anointing in her songwriting. Let alone a
beautiful voice and an expertly musical talent on her guitar, Faith’s
songs glorify our Lord, Yeshua. Not only does her songwriting glorify,
her message makes the listener identify with wanting to grow closer to
the Lord.
Songs vary from "Stand Up And Worship Him", an
upbeat song of praising Yeshua for who He is, to "Jenna",
a beautiful song about her daughter and the reminder that through the
blessing of our children, we can be reminded that we are all children of
God. Jenna, (Faith’s 9 year old daughter), adds her beautiful,
innocent voice on this song, putting a masterful touch on the recording.
I have picked two of my favorites from the release as my song
samples for you to hear. The first sample is from the song, "Holy,
Adonai". A majestic, beautiful song of our love for the Lord,
and existing for Him. I love the verse:
"I will wait til the dawn of the coming
day,
Holding strong to Your word, I pray
That Your will be mine today."
This song will surely become one of your favorites!
My second pick for a song sample is entitled, "Choices".
How many times do we find ourselves running in many different
directions, sometimes caught up in the whirlwind of what we call life?
Yet, when we finally realize that He is near, reaching out for us, we
learn to rely on the Lord. We can all identify with this song!
I give you my heartfelt recommendation to make Faith’s "IN
HIS GRACE", a part of your musical collection. We are proud to
be featuring the release, and want to encourage Faith to continue to
write those beautiful songs! Wonderful!
BIOGRAPHY
I was 13 in 1971, when I first heard that there were Jews who
believed that
Yeshua was Messiah! I was shocked. And curious! I always wondered about
this man, Jesus. When I was little, I would ask my mom why we didn't
believe
in Him. Her answer was that, while He was a great teacher and a prophet,
he
was not our Messiah...because Jews just didn't believe in Jesus. Exactly
WHY
we didn't believe, she didn't know. It's just what she grew up hearing.
But
even as a young child, I had a very strong desire to know God. Although
my
parents were not yet believers in Messiah, they did instill in me a
strong
belief in God...that he was reachable through prayer. My maternal
Grandmother, an orthodox Jew by upbringing, read the Scriptures daily,
and
even went to a local church on Sundays as there was no synagogue near
her
home. Posted in corners of her vanity mirror and table were favorite
scripture verses cut from articles or hand-printed by her.
So at 13, when I heard there were Jews who believed in Jesus, I
wanted to
explore this! It wasn't until I was about 14 that I started attending
Bible
studies at Joe and Debbie Finkelstein's home. It was there that I read
in my
own Tenach the prophesies about Meshiach...His coming, His death, His
purpose...and I knew Who they were talking about!! As a kid, I had
begged to
attend Hebrew school (and went)...because I was searching for God...
joined
my synagogue youth group at 13...to find spiritual answers...And in all
those
things, I didn't find Him. But as I read the scriptures and saw Messiah
in
them, I knew I had found the answers I had been searching for. Yeshua
was
ALWAYS the JEWISH Messiah, for everyone of course, but JEWISH
non-the-less!!!
So at 14 yrs old, I accepted Yeshua as my Messiah...and entered in
a
personal relationship with the God I searched for all my life! Later,
after
my grandmother had passed away, I found out that she, too, was a
believer in
Yeshua!! A few years after I became a believer, my parents accepted
Yeshua!! God is faithful!!
Faith lives in Pennsylvania with her Husband, Peter, and two
children,
Scott(15) and Jenna(9). She has been a member of the Messianic singing
group
KOL SIMCHA for 22 years, and has ministered world wide with them
in such
places as Russia, Israel, France, Switzerland, Argentina and Canada. In
His Grace is Faith's first solo project!
