Several years ago I had the blessing of being worship leader of Congregation Emmaus, (now Beit Tikvah). This wonderful, thriving congregation over the years, has hosted the best in Messianic musical artists. Alyosha Ryabinov came to the congregation and shared his prophetic, heart-filled musical expression on the piano. This highly trained virtuoso proceeded to pour his heart out in a way that I had not heard before. The inspired expression of scripture through concert-proportion praise and worship is so refreshing! Alyosha’s soothing musical offering is captured in both “Celebration” and “Hidden in the Secret Place”. The earlier release, “Celebration,” is a grand collection of praise songs, inspired by passages in Isaiah, the Psalms, and Habakkuk. The more recent release, “Hidden in the Secret Place”, is ‘instrumental music for soaking in God’s presence’, as the CD cover proclaims. It is that and more! Direct from Israel comes Carolyn Hyde’s “Some of the Best of Carolyn Hyde” & “He Will Appear”. Both of these releases share the heart of this Jewish believer. We are blessed to be featuring the latest from artist Rosalind Hershkovitz. Australian-born Rosalind brings forth her latest release as a co-project with the anointed lyrics from believer, Ed Vinson. Ed’s poems inspired by the Lord have been lovingly put to song. As a collaboration of both of these servants of the Lord, “I Have Heard Your Cries” is both anointed and an example of when two or more are gathered in His name. This wonderful recording of various Messianic artists from Israel, is an oasis of anointing. “Praise to our God”, was a concert sponsored by The Messianic Alliance of Israel, and sung in Hebrew. It is with great blessing to feature the latest release from the heart and soul of Karen Davis, entitled “Israel My Beloved”. Just when you think it couldn’t get better, Karen has done it again! Her rich melodic voice, along with this wonderful collection of songs to the Lord, makes this one of Karen’s best so far.  Please listen to the song samples that we have chosen for you, and you will hear for yourself what we mean when we say that Karen has outdone herself once again with this anointed CD, “Israel My Beloved”. This CD merits two shofars up! 

 In the latest of great music from the land of Israel, we are blessed to feature “Chassidic and Shabbat Songs volume 3”. This wonderful compilation CD contains great songs from well-known artists such as, Giora Feidman, David Fisher, Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach and others. You will find songs compiled using a more modern musical approach to some long-standing favorites. You will be sure to be clapping your hands, tapping your feet, and dancing before the Lord.  

  

“In Awe of You” is the latest from the renowned Messianic music icon, Philip Stanley Klein. This wonderfully mastered release is sure to be a favorite of many. Philip’s refreshing musical approach puts his signature on each one of these heartfelt offerings of musical adoration to Yeshua. As well, his powerfully melodic voice is alive and more vibrant than ever in this wonderful CD collection.

 Phil starts off with a majestic song entitled ‘Ephesians’. ‘One Body! One Spirit!’ reigns throughout this wonderful contribution to excellence in Messianic music. As well, I particularly liked ‘Show Me Thy Ways oh Lord’, with the cover of the song being so joyful to live the words of Proverbs 3:5-6. Phil blesses us with the first song that he ever wrote entitled,  ‘Bar’khoo Et A’donai’. This one goes back to Philip’s Nagila days.  You will want to get up and dance to this refreshing ‘freilach’ style song. ‘Selah, Selah’ is yet another upbeat song that praises Him with a unique style that exemplifies why Philip Stanley Klein is one of Messianic music’s greats. The feeling of the islands makes this song sing.  You will need to be still when listening to ‘Yisrael, I Will Redeem You’ . This powerful song gave me holy goose bumps.  With the miracle of Israel being established in the 20^th century, this song is a strong statement and is a classic. What a powerful song!

All in all, ‘In Awe of You’ is a must for your Messianic music collection.  Philip has other releases, Nagila’s ‘Valley of Vision’ and  ‘Hineni’, which are worthy of picking up if you don’t have them already.

Just when you thought that you had heard every style of messianic music possible here comes Michelle Gold with her release “You Know Me”. This powerful contemporary stylized music genre will be the favorite of many from young to old. Michelle pours heart and soul into each song that she sings, employing a vocal style that frankly not many are fortunate to possess. Michelle’s voice is that good, and “You Know Me” is better yet! One of them is Paul Wilbur, who I consider to be one of the founding fathers of the modern day Messianic musical expression. This anointed individual, along with his ever-present, full bodied vocal style makes “The Watchman” a must for your Messianic music collection. Paul continues to mature in his musical mantle as one of the greatest Messianic worshippers in this day. One of the latest CD’s sent to us came from a woman who calls herself B’racha. Her release, “House of Prayer”, contains a feeling of congregational-style praise and worship, with  B’racha’s touch. This group of original songs were recorded, mixed and mastered by her husband, Bill. They both serve at Baruch HaShem Messianic Synagogue in Dallas, TX, where B’racha is the Worship Leader. Her songwriting displays her call to sing unto the Lord. Well done! This will make a great addition to your Messianic CD collection.

Echad is led by Marni Esposito and Mark Houde. This very talented Messianic group came together as a result of ministering together on the worship team of their congregation, Simchat Yisrael in West Haven, CT. Echad’s “One From Many” CD  makes use of  great musical touches from other worship team members; bassist Howard Zarabet, Felipe Soltero on percussion and vocals, and Tambourine player Maryann Houde. “One From Many” exemplifies that Jew and Gentile can come together as one in Yeshua. Mark’s vast jazz background, displaying his strong skills on the acoustic guitar, brings a special touch to each song. Marni’s beautiful voice and anointed songwriting make this CD a wonderful labor of love for the Lord.

I first met Les Morrison while he was touring with the messianic group, Zemer Levav. It became very evident to me that this very talented servant of the Lord should be sharing his instrument of praise with the body of believers. We are blessed to feature Les Morrison, messianic violinist. Les brings a special touch to the wonderful songs he has chosen with his heartfelt violin playing. This virtuoso of the violin makes his instrument sing through some of the most well known songs such as “Ma Navu”, “On Your Walls O Jerusalem”, and “Be’ Mayim Zakim”, songs chosen as samples for you to listen to. A few months back, we received an email from a woman living in Israel who requested to submit  a recording of her musical offerings to Yeshua. It turns out that Oxana is friends with a couple who are near and dear to us, Stan and Heather. Stan and Heather were very instrumental in my life as a believer. Stan served as the Rabbi of a Messianic congregation that we founded together in Upstate New York, of which I served as the Worship Leader.

We are extremely blessed to be featuring, “The Power Of Words” by Oxana Eliahu.  Her beginnings start with being born in St. Petersburg, (then called Lenningrad), then immigrating to Italy and finally Israel, where Oxana now serves the Lord. I have known Yaacov for many years now. He was involved with a sister congregation while I was serving as worship leader of a congregation in Bellevue, Washington. I had come to know Yaacov as an anointed musician who had the gift of writing praise to Yeshua. Over the years, we lost touch until I recently  saw him at a Holocaust remembrance conference. Yaacov let me know of this CD that he had released on a limited basis consisting of songs that he had written and performed. Here is the long-awaited release from this group of very anointed believers. This collection of the latest from Aviyah, is another example of their commitment to excellence before the Lord.  It is obvious that Aviyah is an ensemble made up of talented Messianic musicians who love the Lord. Their labor of love is wonderfully evident through their well-orchestrated music.  What a blessing it is to review Rosalind Hershkovitz”s “All Flesh is as Grass” album. Rosalind's love and zeal for G-d is evident, as reflected in her musical offerings on this anointed CD. Rosalind's creative song-writing style combined with her deep love and admiration of the L-rd makes "All Flesh is as Grass" an anointed CD that is sure to bring you to your knees in worship and gratitude to the King of the Universe.   

It is with great blessing that we feature Steve McConnell's latest CD "Yeshua". Steve McConnell's music has been one of the all-time favorites of many of our messianicmusic.com friends. Steve Schneider, previously featured artist on messianicmusic.com, has recently released a highly-anointed instrumental musical piano collection inspired by scripture and traditional Israeli Folk. It is with great blessing that I review and feature Steve?s latest release, "Hope of Israel" The Piano Collection.

A few months back, we received “ Holy One” a new release by Ana Copening. Upon listening to this CD, I was immediately drawn to this prolific songwriter, and some of her many offerings of praise and worship. Ana, without formal musical training, put all of herself into this group of heartfelt songs unto the Lord.

This anointed CD will leave you with the desire to grow closer to the Lord. This scripture-based release is full of G-d's word, and Ana's gift is bringing the words to life in song.
