What a blessing it is to review yet
another anointed album from Steve McConnell. Sim Shalom is Steves
third album. We have received so many positive comments from our www.messianicmusic.com friends regarding Steve
McConnells We Delight and Hamoedim albums. Once you hear Steves latest release Sim
Shalom, I am confident that you will agree with me that this may be Steves best
release yet. Steves rich songwriting style, accompanied by his sweet, melodic voice
commands each song to be heartfelt by the listener. This simple, but full-bodied release
is sure to be on the way to become the favorite of many.
My
first song pick is entitled, Chai Hashem, based upon Psalms 18:46 & 34:2.The
Lord Lives, Chai Hashem!, is proclaimed throughout this very catchy song. Once
you have listen to this choral-stylized musical offering, you will find yourself singing
the Praises of the Lord. Great song Steve!
My second song pick is entitled Sim
Shalom Too. This reprise of the release theme, catches Steve pouring his heart and
soul out to the Lord. Steves unique
cantoral style only adds to this prayer for the Lord to establish peace, adapted from
Ephesians 2:14,17. The Tile Song, Sim Shalom, is based upon the final benediction of the
Amidah.
My third song pick is entitled Shabbat
M-Nucha. Based upon one of the Shabbat Zmirot, Steve covers this compelling song
with rich vocal harmony, along with a hint of a Klezmer song style. This is one of mf
favorite tracks from this release.
As one of the most sought after
artists that we have released on www.messianicmusic.com,
I can only tell you how happy we are that Steve has released this new, fresh offering. We
appreciate you very much, Steve!
